Muller submits planning application for care home in Sandbach
Muller Property Group’s latest planning application for its 20-acre Houndings Park site in Sandbach includes a care home, signalling Muller’s intention to explore new opportunities for care homes and retirement living facilities in the future.
The proposed 78-bedroom care home will provide an important amenity for the local community and generate circa 70 new job opportunities.
It is situated on 1.5 acres within the Houndings Park site and includes communal areas and ancillary accommodation including assisted bathrooms; staff WC’s, guest rooms, private dining, kitchen, laundry, nurse stations and a pharmacy.
Jonothan Croft is the newly appointed Land Director at Muller and will be leading the company’s search for land with development opportunities in the retirement living/care sector.
Commenting on the Sandbach planning submission, Jonothan said, “The proposed care home has generated substantial interest from care home companies who wish to operate in Sandbach.
“This supports the requirement for care provision in this location; and it’s not surprising given the fact that the fastest growing age group in England are people aged 65 and over. What’s more, this group is projected to grow by a staggering 20.4% over the next 10 years and by nearly 60% over 25 years.”
We are now actively seeking new sites throughout the UK for both care and retirement living,
between 0 .5 acre and 3 acres in size, in or on periphery of locations with a population of at least 10,000, prominent areas with good transport links and easy access to local amenities.
Jonothan continued, “Typical sites include surplus car parks or buildings, garages, car dealerships, existing care homes, office buildings, pubs, private sports grounds, garden centres, residential assemblies, depots and hotels.”
