Muller awaiting approval for 171 dwellings in Nottinghamshire
The site with an area of 7.4 hectares is situated in Retford, Nottinghamshire, within the administrative area of Bassetlaw District. The site is located approximately 1.3km north east from the town centre.
Muller submitted an outline planning application for 171 dwellings to Bassetlaw District Council in December 2018. The application went to committee in May 2019 and was refused. We subsequently held meetings with the Bassetlaw Planning department to discuss and review the reasons for refusal. A strategy was agreed and the resubmission application was submitted in October 2019 for 170 dwellings.
Despite a strong recommendation for approval in the Officer’s report produced for the committee meeting, members at the virtual meeting held in June 2020 decided to refuse the application giving three reasons for refusal.
An appeal against Bassetlaw Council’s refusal of the submission application for 170 dwellings was held by virtual Inquiry between 4th and 7th May 2021. The Inspector’s decision on the planning appeal is pending.
