An outline planning application has been submitted for 101 new homes on the former Fernbank Mill site in the Lancashire market town of Barnoldswick.
The 5.57-acre brownfield parcel of land, off Fernbank Avenue, will featuring new play areas and open green spaces, along with landscaping and biodiversity enhancements..
A a wide selection of homes is proposed to help meet local needs of the Borough. The final mix would be subject to a future reserved matters application however, it is envisaged that the mix would include 1 & 2 bedroom apartments, and 2 & 3 bedroom semi-detached homes featuring a mix of private and communal gardens.
A policy-compliant level of affordable housing of 5% would be provided which would include Shared Ownership and Social Rent. The exact mix of affordable unit types and tenures would be subject to negotiation with Pendle Borough Council during the course of the application and would be secured through a Section 106 Legal Agreement.
