This is not a role where you’ll simply process planning applications. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of significant projects, work alongside industry-leading consultants, and directly influence the success of major development schemes.
The Opportunity
As Planning Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for managing planning applications from inception through to determination, ensuring projects progress efficiently through the planning system and maximise the opportunity for successful outcomes.
Working closely with planning consultants, technical specialists, local authorities, landowners, and internal stakeholders, you will coordinate every stage of the planning process—from preparing application strategies and managing submissions to responding to consultees and supporting appeals where required.
You will become the driving force behind a portfolio of live applications, ensuring momentum is maintained, risks are managed, and opportunities are fully realised.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing planning applications from pre-submission through to determination.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams, including planning, highways, ecology, drainage, landscape, heritage, and environmental specialists.
- Managing project programmes, budgets, and consultant appointments.
- Reviewing planning submissions and technical reports to ensure quality and consistency.
- Liaising with local planning authorities and key stakeholders throughout the application process.
- Coordinating responses to planning officer queries and statutory consultee comments.
- Identifying and managing project risks to maintain programme objectives.
- Supporting planning appeals and post-submission activities where required.
- Reporting on project progress and providing strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Working collaboratively with land, planning, technical, and development teams to maximise planning success.
