Site acquired in Middleton, Greater Manchester

Muller Property Group has announced the acquisition of a 3-acre site in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Located off Manchester Old Road the former Parkfield House site has been identified as an excellent brownfield development opportunity by Muller.

Research from the UK’s leading Health and Social Care experts has revealed there are a staggering 530 care home beds required within a two-mile catchment of the site.  A full planning application seeking permission for the creation of a care home, alongside a scheme of residential properties, is expected to be submitted to Rochdale Borough Council in early 2023.

“There is incredibly high demand for modern care home accommodation in the Rochdale borough,” commented Colin Muller, chief executive of Muller Property Group.  “This brownfield site has the potential to not only address that local shortage but to also deliver much needed new properties in Middleton.

“This is a derelict site in a great location which also has the potential to generate new employment opportunities during and beyond its construction.  A new care home here would provide long term positions within health and social care, plus other auxiliary sectors.  We hope the local council will help us to recognise our ambitions to deliver our proposals.”

The site which adjoins Limefield playing fields, features an existing gated access point enabling the care home to have its own private entrance. All properties would be unobtrusively positioned behind an existing walled and tree lined boundary along Manchester Old Road.
