Cheshire based, Muller Property Group is ready to support Cheshire East Council in tackling its pressing housing deficit, aligning with the national Government’s mission of delivering 1.5 million homes by 2030. As the demand for affordable and quality housing intensifies, Muller Property Group is committed to partnering with the Council to not only meet these requirements but deliver real, lasting benefits to local communities.
Local planning authorities are required by Government to update their Local Plans every five years. With the current Local Plan for Cheshire East Council adopted in 2017, is has now fallen significantly out of date. Progress on producing a new Local Plan for the Borough in under way and the current timetable for the new Local Plan to be adopted is Q3 2028. In the meantime, sweeping updates to the National Planning Policy Framework announced by the new Government in late 2024 have dramatically increased the number of homes Cheshire East Council will need to deliver from 1,800 to 2,603 per annum, leaving Cheshire East with less than the Government-required five-year housing land supply.
Colin Muller, Founder & Chief Executive stresses the urgency, stating,
“The need for affordable, quality housing in Cheshire East is critical. Our commitment is to work together with Cheshire East Council to develop homes that not only meet the current demand but also supports the Government’s vision for growth.”
“This initiative is about more than just building high-quality, well-designed homes; it’s about creating thriving sustainable communities with improved infrastructure that stimulates local economies and benefits our existing communities.”
With strategic sites already advancing in Crewe, Nantwich, Audlem, and other key areas, Muller is in a position to immediately address the shortfall. The proposed developments will deliver over 1,000 high-quality homes, with a 30% affordable homes provision to meet diverse housing needs. The proposals are supported by modern infrastructure, landscaped green spaces, sustainable drainage, and vital access improvements.
All three sites are outside the greenbelt and located in highly sustainable areas close to existing communities. As such, they were submitted via Cheshire East Council’s latest Call for Sites and promoted through the Council’s review of the Local Plan.
Muller Property Group extends an invitation to residents to participate in the planning process to build a shared vision of growth and sustainability that encourages community engagement.
